During the 1980s and 90s, several thousand orangutans were brought to Taiwan as pets. International attention shone the light of shame on Taiwan for its role in environmental destruction and disregard of animal rights. This film revisits the history of Taiwan’s role in tropical deforestation and how this reflects on the basic values of Taiwanese.
