Amorgos,2003

Natural or Human-made Disasters

On January 14th, 2001, the crippled Greek-registered ship Amorgos began leaking heavy oil after losing power. The black, viscous ooze drifted shoreward where it covered coral and threatened Kenting’s Long Keng Ecological Reserve. This film follows the disaster and examines issues related to the effectiveness of the government’s response initiative.
